Zhivra BETA Terms of Service

These terms cover your use of Zhivra during its public BETA. Plain language on purpose — if anything's unclear, email license@zhivra.com.

1. BETA — use at your own risk

Zhivra is in BETA. It may break, lose data, route to a model you didn't expect, or stop working without notice. No warranty, express or implied. Don't use Zhivra for anything where failure has serious consequences (production code review on a regulated system, sole-source clinical workflows, etc.) until we exit BETA.

2. You bring your own key

Zhivra runs against the provider API key(s) you configure in the extension settings. We do not bill you for model usage — your provider does, on your account. We do not see your keys; they are stored in VS Code's secret storage on your machine.

3. Telemetry is behavioral and opt-in

Anonymous telemetry (accept / reject / edit-distance signals) is off by default and can be enabled in Settings. No prompts, no code, no file contents are uploaded under the default anonymous-telemetry channel. A second, separately opt-in "routing-improvement" channel can upload prompts + responses for grading — also off by default, with explicit consent. Full detail in our Privacy Policy.

4. Open source · BSL 1.1

The Zhivra extension source code is licensed under the Business Source License 1.1. Free for non-competitive use — personal, internal-team, academic, and most commercial use is allowed. If you want to offer Zhivra (or a derivative) as a competing hosted product, contact license@zhivra.com first. The Roo Code upstream portions remain under Apache 2.0; attribution preserved per Apache §4(b).

5. Acceptable use

Don't use Zhivra to violate the law, generate malware, harass anyone, or attack systems you don't own. We may suspend service — including revoking your telemetry endpoint access or your install id — for abuse or to comply with law enforcement.

6. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms during BETA. Material changes will be announced via the extension's release notes or a notice on zhivra.com. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.

7. Disputes

Disputes are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China, and the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Hong Kong courts. Personal data handling complies with the Hong Kong Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486).
